Last week I attended the STORY & CHARACTER Masterclass (March 20th & 21st) and Workshop (March 22nd) in Rome, Italy. The Masterclass was taught by Matthew Luhn & Valerie Lapointe, story supervisor and story artist at Pixar. The Masterclass was top notch, met some great people and enjoyed the pizzas and ice cream in this incredibly beautiful city. The Workshop was an intense day where we experienced working in small groups how story development is done at Pixar. Interesting detail was that the workshop was held inside the former workshop of Michelangelo (so they told us)... it were a great 3 inspiring days all together. If you ever get the chance of attending these lectures I definitely recommend going. Matthew and Valerie know their story stuff.
I stayed in Rome a bit longer to see the beautiful city and did some Drawing from Italian Life along the way... here's a few pages from my sketchbook:
Some drawings from the Life Drawing sessions we do at Aardman on wednesdays over a period of 9 weeks: The first week's drawings compared to the last week's drawings. All poses are from 10 seconds to around 2 minute ones.
