Rad Sechrist's Fall storyboard workshop started!

Radhowtoschool's Fall Storyboard for Feature Animation workshop started!

For the 2nd week assignment we had to board a short sequence with a begin - middle - end, picking from a list which had 3 persons, 3 locations and 3 objects on it. Pick one of each and do a short story.

Here's mine for this one:

DFL Challenge - Sept 6th

These are the pages I did yesterday, September 6th, for the Drawing From Life Challenge we're doing. I'm trying to develop my drawing shortcuts and to put a story in each drawing. I also decided to put one drawing on each page so I can learn from it, and try to put those learnings in the next page. I decided to try this one drawing a page method when I recently read David Pimentel's post on that topic on his blog.

Here's the drawings, 24 days to go!

Drawing From Life - September - Challenge

The fresh new sketchbook, no. of pages: 200.

Last Monday me and my colleague Lennart decided we needed a challenge. So we decided we're going to do a Drawing From Life -Challenge. We each bought a fresh sketchbook, and the challenge is to fill the entire sketchbook with drawings from life in a month!
Every monday we'll draw together for an hour somewhere in the centre of Utrecht, and the rest of the week you're on your own.

Here's some of the drawings I did in the first few days.

Wish us luck and feel free to join us!

Action scene character sketch

One of the points of the critique on my action sequence was that the characters were hard to identify, because there are two guys chasing two guys, and because the characters didn't look different enough from each other. Tonight I quickly sketched out the characters how I think they could look and tried to give them each a different look.

Action Chase Sequence 1st pass

This week I wrote an action chase sequence, planned my shots in thumbnails and boarded it in a first pass. While I was boarding I kinda deviated from my thumbnails, but decided to go with the flow. Also I tried to focus on speed this week, goal for me was to finish the whole sequence and not getting distracted in trying to do clean drawings, so it's all pretty rough.
Near the deadline I kinda rushed through the resolution, need to fix that during my clean up pass. Got some good constructive critique from Steven, and I'm gonna try to address that during my clean up pass.
Here's what I came up with:
